What is Sprout

Any grain which started germinating and grown between 1mm to 10mm is called sprout. Sprout is the starting of a plant’s life from a seed to a plant. this is the time when the energy stored in a seed is at the highest level. after that, a plant should be survived on its own. that why this is the time when the energy in the seed will enhance up to 400%.

How to make sprout

There are three popular ways to make sprouts. will Discuss all of them. First, we will discuss common things.

Common things to do before sprouting

Before sprouting you have to ensure the quality of grain. If the grain is low quality then you will not get good results. You can simply check them with the help of water. Take 5 times more water than grains. And put the moong grains in it, wait for a few seconds and you will see some grains are floating. These grains are useless they don’t germinate so throw them out. Then wash the rest grains properly. because the grain you will bring from the market are pesticides mixed. make sure you will clean them properly.

Soaking the grain

Soaking the grain is very important. Make sure to take 4 times more water than grain. Because the grain can become up to 3 times bigger than the actual size. Keep it at a cool and dry place and soak them up to 12 hours.

Sprouting Process

There are three popular ways to make sprout.

  1. This one is a very old and traditional way. To sprout this way, you have to take a clean and wet cotton cloth. And put the grain in it then fold the cloth. Put this cloth in an open container so that air can easily pass through it. and keep it in a dark and warm place for 24 hours. it can take a little less or more time its depend on seed quality and weather.
  2. Take a strainer and keep it at the top of a pan. And put a clean kitchen towel on the top of the strainer. Put the grain in the strainer and fold the kitchen towel. keep it in a dark and warm place for 24 hours. it can take a little less or more time its depend on seed quality and weather.
  3. Sprouting Bowl. This is a set of two, the lower one is a container for water coming from the strainer and the upper one like a strainer. Many tiny holes are present in this bowl. The making process is the same as I mentioned above. You have to strain the water and keep it wet and in a warm place. The key is that you make sure that it is wet and a little warmer.
